Sharks sweat on Marcell Coetzee's knee injury

The Sharks are facing an anxious wait over the severity of the knee injury Marcell Coetzee picked up in Saturday's defeat to the Lions.

Springboks flanker Coetzee, who has signed for Ulster ahead of next season, limped off in the 31st minute of the match.

Sharks boss Gary Gold admitted post-match: "It's not looking good. He's gone to hospital, he's had a scan ... it's not looking great.

"We just hope that it's as minor as possible but there does seem to be a little bit of laxness in the knee which does suggest that at very best he won't be ready for next week."

While a definitive prognosis on Coetzee's injury is yet to be confirmed, he has been left out of the Sharks squad for their tour of New Zealand.
