England's women will play three matches in Salt Lake City this summer with games teed up against Canada, France and the United States.

The matches will be played on Jul. 1, 5 and 9 and England coach Scott Bemand hopes the side will push on after they finished second in the recent Six Nations. England will travel without those currently pursuing a place in the Team GB squad for Rio 2016.

"The focus of the tour is really starting to gear towards the World Cup defence," said Bemand. "Post tour the Sevens girls will be competing in the Rio Olympics and hoping to medal there. Next autumn we will have a full squad of players available to pick from and competition for places is going to be fierce."

And Bemand hopes England's younger players will push on in Salt Lake City. He added: "A lot of the younger players have now become integral to the squad that will go on to try to defend the World Cup next year.

"At 19-years-old, Amy Cockayne is mixing it with the best and has a huge amount of potential to come alongside girls such as Lotte Clapp on the wing.

"Her development from her first cap in the autumn against France to that championship decider has been phenomenal. These girls are worthy of their place and worthy of being in the squad to contend the retention of the World Cup."
