Rebels upset Waratahs for first win in Sydney

Melbourne Rebels have claimed a first ever win in Sydney, defeating the Waratahs 21-17 at Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Rebels did all the damage in the first half, going to the break 21-3 up after tries to Jack Debreczeni and Toby Smith.

The visitors failed to score any points after half-time while the Waratahs worked their way back into the match through the boot of Bernard Foley and a try to Matt Carraro.

But the 18-point half-time deficit proved to great to run down, the Rebels holding on for their first win in Sydney at the sixth attempt.
