Reigning champions Stade Francais slumped to their 10th defeat of the season against Top 14 minnows La Rochelle at Stade Marcel Deflandre.

Following on from last weekend's 33-point thrashing at the hands of Toulouse, Stade were little better on the Atlantic coast as the went down 21-18 to La Rochelle, who sit two places above them in 10th.

The hosts touched down for two tries, Pierre Aguillon scoring after just two minutes and Lepani Botia Veivuke dotting down after 65 minutes.

The twin boots of Jean Pascal Barraque and Zack Holmes put La Rochelle out of touch, with Stade's points coming via six Jules Plisson penalties.

Toulouse were edged out 15-9 on their trip to Castres, whose kicker Ben Urdapilleta struck four penalties and a drop goal to the visitors' three penalties from France's newly-capped Sebastien Bezy.

Racing 92 shrugged off the absence of World Cup-winner Dan Carter to squeeze past their hosts Bordeaux Begles 20-28.

Metuisela Talebula Maijaina opened the scoring for Bordeaux after just four minutes before an Antonie Claassen try and a brace from Johan Goosen saw Racing power ahead. A late penalty try restored respectability to the scoresheet for the hosts.

Relegation-threatened Oyonnax outscored Grenoble by three tries to two but it was not enough to prevent them going down 20-27 to the visitors. Silvere Tian saw red with 10 minutes from full-time and Grenoble capitalised with a late Mahamadou Diaby to steal victory at the death.

Colin Slade starred as Pau overcame bottom-side Agen, with the New Zealand fly-half kicking 18 points and touching down for two tries to go with Jale Vatubua early score at Stade Armandie.
