Alun Wyn Jones has not played since injuring his heel in Wales' defeat to England in March.
Warren Gatland has been told there is a "large possibility" that Alun Wyn Jones will be fit for Wales' summer tour of New Zealand.
Ospreys lock Jones has not played since his country's Six Nations defeat to England on March 12, and will not feature in his region's final PRO12 fixture of the season against Ulster.
However, the 30-year-old does seem to be on course to take his place on a tour that could result in him bringing up a century of Wales caps.
"The work he's doing now would suggest it's a large possibility," Ospreys backs coach Gruff Rees told a press conference when asked if Jones would make the trip to New Zealand.
"If you asked Alun himself he would say 'certainly', but he's probably got a few thing he has to tick off yet."
Wales play England at Twickenham on May 29, before embarking on a three-Test tour of New Zealand.
Jones, who currently has 98 Wales caps as well as five for the British and Irish Lions, would be a big part of Gatland's plans if fit, as Wales attempt to win their first ever match against the All Blacks away from home.
