Etzebeth set to join Saracens in November - reports

Saracens are set to sign South Africa lock Eben Etzebeth on a short-term deal this November, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is due to join the Aviva Premiership champions for a three-month stint following the upcoming Autumn interationals.

British media, including the BBC and Daily Mail, report that Etzebeth is being brought in as injury cover for Saracens' former club captain Alistair Hargreaves, who retired earlier this month due to concussion.

Etzebeth, who has 53 caps for the Springboks, is contracted to the Stormers and the South African Rugby Union (SARU), but was allowed to play a three-month spell in Japan last year during the Southern Hemisphere's off-season.

The deal is yet to be signed off by SARU and South African side Western Province, which owns Etzebeth's playing rights for 2017.
