Jackson named at fly-half by Ireland

Paddy Jackson will attempt to fill the sizeable boots of Johnny Sexton when Ireland face South Africa in the first Test on Saturday.

The Ulster fly-half comes into the starting XV after Sexton was ruled out of Ireland's summer tour with a shoulder injury.

Sexton's Leinster teammate Ian Madigan has often been the preferred back-up in the crucial No.10 jersey, but head coach Joe Schmidt appears ready to rewards Jackson after a solid Guinness PRO12 season with his province.

Rory Best once again captains the side after assuming the role during the recent Six Nations campaign, which saw Ireland finish third after a disappointing title defence.

Jared Payne is named at fullback after regular No.15 Rob Kearney picked up a hamstring strain playing for Leinster in the PRO12 final.
